These terms are an agreement between you and Furneaux Research LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“Piste”, “we”, “us”) for your use of Piste: the app at app.usepiste.com, its Slack and iMessage channels, its Shopify app, its MCP server, and the websites at usepiste.com (together, the “service”). If you use the service for a business, you agree to these terms for that business, and you confirm you're allowed to. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
The service
Piste is an AI agent for merchants. It answers questions about your business, runs automations and longer jobs, measures your ad spend and proposes budget changes, using the accounts you connect. We may change, add or remove features as the service develops.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 and give accurate information. Keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for what happens under your account.
- The workspace owner controls its connections and may let others use the agent, for example everyone in a Slack workspace where Piste is installed. The owner is responsible for the people they let use it.
Your connected accounts and your content
- You may only connect accounts (such as a Shopify store, a Slack workspace, or a Meta or Google Ads account) that you're authorised to connect, and you must follow those platforms' own terms.
- You keep all rights to your content and your data. You give us permission to use them only to run and improve the service for you, as our privacy policy describes.
- You're responsible for your content, and for having the rights and any consents it needs, including for your customers' data.
Approvals and changes to your accounts
Piste asks before it takes an action that changes something outside Piste, such as publishing to your store or changing a campaign budget. Only the workspace owner, or the person who asked, can approve. When you approve an action, you authorise Piste to carry it out, and you're responsible for it. Check what an approval shows (for a budget change: the platform, account, campaign, current budget and proposed budget) before you approve it.
AI output and measurement
Piste's answers, studies and recommendations are generated by AI models and statistical methods from the data available to them. They can be incomplete or wrong. Each measurement names the evidence it rests on; a platform-reported number is the platform's own claim, not a measured result. Piste doesn't guarantee any result from following a recommendation, including sales, revenue or return on ad spend. Use your own judgement.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law or anyone's rights, or use the service to send spam or harmful content;
- try to get into another workspace's data, or around the service's security, usage limits or approvals;
- use the service to build a competing product, or scrape or overload it;
- resell the service without our written agreement.
Fees
Some parts of the service may be paid. We'll show you the price before you commit to it. Fees are billed in advance, aren't refundable except where the law requires, and don't include taxes. Paid data tools and connections to third-party services may have their own costs, which we show before you use them.
Third-party services
The service connects to services we don't control, such as Shopify, Slack, Meta, Google, and AI model providers. Their terms apply to your use of them, and we aren't responsible for them or for changes they make.
Ending the service
You can stop using Piste at any time, disconnect your accounts in Settings, and ask us to delete your data (see Data deletion). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we must by law, or if we stop offering the service, and we'll tell you when we reasonably can. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability and governing law) survive the end of these terms.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, and we don't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Furneaux Research LLC won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or ad spend, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100.
Indemnity
You'll defend and indemnify Furneaux Research LLC against claims arising from your content, the accounts you connect, the actions you approve, or your breach of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Courts in Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that either of us may seek urgent relief in any competent court.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell account owners by email before a material change takes effect. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.
